Efetive Eguko is the Campaigns Lead at the Bank of England. Prior to this role, Efe dedicated the past decade to spearheading public-facing marketing campaigns for the UK government. Efe has extensive experience advising government agencies and leadership teams of global brands. His expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including low-cost and paid marketing, crisis communications, event management, media relations, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and brand management. Efe holds an M.Sc in Marketing Communications from London South Bank University.

James Hotson
Head of strategic communications

James Hotson is Head of Strategic Communications at the Bank of England. He joined in December 2023 to set up this new function. James has worked in communications roles for around 20 years, starting in press offices and broadening across other communications disciplines throughout his career, primarily in external communications. He’s worked in health, transport, energy, legal and financial services, mainly in government and regulatory settings. He has an MSc in Corporate Communication.

Paolo Valenziano is the Head of Digital Content Delivery at the Bank of England. He is responsible for the website, publications, and social media functions at the Bank. His passion for digital channels and new technologies has made him the AI expert in Comms, where he’s provided training for colleagues to embrace this new technology, and he has delivered several projects, including the first AI-powered chatbot for the Bank of England website (ChatBoE), and is working on AI focus groups.
Paolo has been at the Bank for 10 years, and has previously worked for a communication agency, a TV network and an events company.
